Lymphangitis
M. paratuberculosis infection can cause lymphangitis (inflammation of lymph vessels) in the ileum. The inflammation and dilation with lymph as they become blocked and overfilled makes them grossly visible (arrow) on the serosal (outside) surface of the intestine. This pathology is called cording.
